Umbria

The choice of Umbria as a tourist destination is a fascinating and surprising experience offering you the feeling for a different environmental and living dimension. Our land full of spiritual essence can offer the mysticism of ancient monasteries, hermitages or basilicas as well as humble spirit of country churches. You will walk through the hills, forests and hamlets of the religious figurehead of Umbria, St. Francis (1182-1226). The Saint from Assisi contributed to the revolution of the Christian Church. The “poor man of Assisi”, as he was called, preached and wrote down his ideas based on love for all the creation, his most famous work is the Canticle of creatures. He was proclaimed Patron Saint of Italy by Pope Pius XII.
In addition to its spiritual wealth, Umbria offers a rich cultural heritage with countless architectural and historical-artistic treasures left over time by poets, writers and painters such as such Pietro di Cristoforo Vannucci, called “Il Perugino” (1445-1523) and by Bernardino di Betto, called “Il Pinturicchio” (1454-1513).
The region is also rich in traditional artisanal activities that you will be able to appreciate in the masters’ workshops. You will enjoy the variety of delicious genuine local dishes and will be delighted by a luxuriant wild relaxing nature … and then sports, major events, and celebrations.

We also offer excursions to the major cultural and artistic centres of Umbria, such as Gubbio, Assisi, Città di CastelloPerugia with visits to museums, galleries and workshops and will involve you in participating in pleasant evenings at the opera.
