Trekking in the Forest of Pietralunga

Trekking itineraries through the state Forest of Pietralunga-Bocca Serriola. It is rich in wildlife and it surrounds the small medieval villages of Pietralunga and Montone.
The forest is bounded by the wooded vegetation of the Alpe della Luna to the North, by the Upper Tiber Valley to the Southwest, and by Serra di Burano and the rugged limestone peaks of the Umbria-Marche Apennines to the East. As reported by the Regional Council, the Forest presents a particularly interesting natural habitat with different territorial areas, that can provide suitable preservation and development instruments.


You can choose among different itineraries:

Short walks (2-3 kms.) –T o suit everyone, where nature is the main interest. NaturOlistic Trail of the Magician’s Garden (it is a virtual trail presenting the basic components of the state-owned forest Pietralunga-Bocca Seriola).

Medium distance walks (5-6 kms) – They are easy but require a minimum of training.

Long distance walks (11-12 kms) – 4/5 hours with lunch at a holiday farm or country Inn.

Zigzagging and nibbing

Every Thursday in July from 5.30 pm. On booking can be arranged at different dates

Naturalistic-gastronomic walks under the moon light, zigzagging among oaks and junipers and nibbling in taverns and holiday farms. A new way to discover the areas by combining trekking with the culinary tradition. At each stop you will taste typical products, starting from aperitifs and ending with desserts and liqueurs.
