Weekend in Umbria: wild nature and ancient traditions





Day of arrival. Morning arrival in Pietralunga and accommodation.

In the afternoon enjoy a relaxing walk along the nature trail in the reserve of Candeleto surrounded by typical Flora and Fauna. There you can also visit the interesting ornithological Museum, a collection of over 300 specimens of fauna from the Umbria-Marche Apennines

Return, dinner and overnight.

Day 1. Breakfast and transfer to the Renaissance town of Città di Castello to visit an ancient printing house and its museum. Since the end of the eighteenth century, the town has been home to printing workshops that immediately distinguished themselves for their remarkable skills and for the production of valuable books and publications which made them so successful as to receive of orders from nearby towns

Typography, lithography and cartography demonstration techniques. At the end of the demonstration, the typographic prints will be handed to the visitors. In the afternoon visit to the Museum of the Tela Umbra. Here, a hundred years ago, the local weavers produced very high quality fabrics such as tablecloths, towels, blankets and curtains. The Museum of Tela Umbra was founded to protect and promote type of crafts rooted in the socio-cultural territory: threads, vintage frames, trine, lace and tools of various kinds are used for weaving.
